Sustainability
Enhancing our long term resilience, reputation and competitiveness while contributing to a more sustainable and equitable world.
Hugo Technology is now ISO 14001:2015 certified. We achieved this significant milestone in our journey with zero non-conformances in 2023. We are proud to be monitoring and reducing our environmental aspects and impacts such as: energy, water, emissions, WEEE waste, greenhouse gases and fuel.
In addition, we have now embarked on our ESG project. By conscientiously addressing environmental considerations, championing diversity and inclusion and advancing corporate governance practices, we aim to publish our ESG score regularly.
This concerted effort underscores our unwavering commitment to Hugo's core values and signifies a decisive stride toward a sustainable and principled future.
Our Sustainability Strategies

Recycling
We are conscientiously using recycling bins for both business waste and domestic-type waste, ensuring that even the smallest plastic milk carton finds its way into the correct bin.

Paperless Working
We are moving towards a paperless system and encourage all staff to diligently minimise printing. Since moving to a bespoke online system, we have reduced paper usage by approximately 70%.

Fuel Emissions
We encourage car sharing amongst employees, utilise an efficient Field Engineer travel management tool to reduce mileage and emissions and promote remote working where feasible.

Supplier Monitoring
We operate a scoring criteria for our suppliers which enables us to make informed and more environmentally friendly choices regarding our Parts and Consumables without compromising on quality or performance.

Energy & Water Consumption
We have a company-wide policy which sets out details as to how each employee can reduce water and energy consumption through such means as, but not limited to, utilising energy-saving modes on computers, switching off unnecessary lighting and sockets and using only the required amount of water in kettles.

WEEE Waste
Our ethical disposal route is compliant with WEEE regulations and minimises the amount sent to landfill.
